Ukrainian sculptor. Born in Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia region. Bohdan graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv. In 2014, he became one of the 150 artists to receive a grant from the Firtash Foundation. In 2015, he became the winner of the American Cultural Center for the creation of a mural, and also got first place in the category «Sculpture» at the Feldman Art Park festival. In Ukraine, a personal exhibition «1+1+» was held at Shcherbenko Art Centre.
In the forests of Rakhiv region, Bohdan Tomashevskyi often came across a fire salamander. The skin of salamanders is very sensitive to the external irritations, so the large population of lizards in the region indicates a clean environment. It is symbolic that the artist decided to settle the Salamander in the Edem Resort health complex. The sculptural object consists of abstract metal structures, which compositionally resemble the silhouette of a moving lizard and the Carpathian ridge. It should inspire people, blinded by technological progress, to think about the crucial role of nature in the existence of civilization.
